Welcome back doublelung.  It was good meeting you at the Iowa Deer classic.

I haven't been out and about lately to hear if they're gobbling, but I know I sure see em in the field.

Can't wait for the season!

I'm leaning towards 2nd and 4th seasons. I know I'll do 4th, maybe in Kendallville again, (got some BIG birds up nort!!). 1st. 2nd. or 3rd. will prolly be in the DeSoto, Ia. area, same property I deer hunt. I set up blind my last week on a wooded hill top. Saw alot of hen poop. We'll see what becomes of it.---Bill

My plan is to get one archery only tag which allows me all 4 seasons and one combination gun/bow for 4th season.

I can't wait!  I love the spring.

How many Turkey Licenses May I have?

A resident hunter my obtain up to a maximun of two turkey licenses.

License choices: two archery only or one archery only and one combination gun/bow 4 or two combination gun/bow of which at least one must be season 4.

DAMN!!!! I guess I never read the regs right!! ---Now I'm leanin' towards a bow tag!!! X-Bow tag that is. ----Speakin' of which,-------I been lookin for a new x-bow,---Found one that's accurate up to 80 yrds.---(Boy what I coulda done w/ that kinda yardage last season), Any way it's a pretty penny, and just don't wanna do it right now. If I can get a gobbler within 25 yrds I'll be a happy camper!!!

Hey guys,

I haven't been out early enough in the morning to hear any gobbles yet, but last week I watched 3 gobblers in a field on the way to work, which is nothing new.  I see some almost every day, but that day I watched one of them in full strut for quite a while.  With the warm weather coming this week and especially the warm nights and mornings I think the gobbling will get cranked up.

Rob, I will give you a call and see if we can work something out for this season.  I will be hunting with a buddy form WI during 2nd season.  We are going to be hunting that Sun-Tuesday.  Maybe Sat evening too if things work out.  I have Brady's flag football schedule and Mackenzie's softball schedule to work around this year.

Dan,

I know how it is with young ones.  Once they start sports most parents become very kid busy Grin.  Good luck my friend.  Lets definitely try and get together.  I picked up a new spot in southern Madison County this week.  I've only been there once, but it was full of birds so I'm pumped.  I'm shooting my bow every day in the mornings before work since I haven't shot since the last day of deer season so I should be ready soon!

I almost got in a wreck this morning.  I was coming into work and saw a flock about 75 yards off the road.  There were about 10 hens and 5 toms all in full strut.  I hit my brakes and almost got nailed.

I was checking out a couple of places around here last night after work.  One looks like it would be a good spot, but it is along the Cedar River and still a little wet.  Hopefully it will dry up in the next few weeks.  I am really just looking for a spot to take Mackenzie out during 4th season that is close to home.
