Hello everybody!  I know the first tournament is in just 33 short days down at Icaria!  Can I expect to see any of you IYBYI members at the first tournament?  It would be a great time to meet in person.  I know ice out is near and all of us anglers are getting a little antsy to wet a line!

Hey all, I just wanted to do sort of a follow up on the first Iowa Premier Bass Series tournament that was held down on lake Icaria on the 17th.  Despite this being the first IPB event ever, a field of 19 boats were competing for a first place prize of $1,064 for first place with the top 4 places earning a check!  Big bass came in weighing 6.08 pounds and earned a $171 check and awesome plaque!  While the fishing was tough some great bags were brought to the scales.  The winning bag went for a touch over 16 pounds for five fish.  Official results can be found over on www.ipbass.com  The weigh-in was very professional looking with tons of exciting people and very nice vendors!  There were quite a few spectators and family members on hand to watch the fish be hoisted onto the scales which added to the excitement.  Bring the kids out to watch the weigh in and pick up on their casting practice.  There is nothing better than being outdoors with the family on a beautiful day!

Hey everyone!  I just wanted to remind you all of the tournament being held down on Rathbun this saturday.  This will be the second tournament held by Iowa Premier Bass and like last time, we expect high payouts and a solid number of boats.  From what I hear, many of the guys and gals that have been pre-fishing are pulling in several big fish which is going to make weigh-in interesting!  I hope you get the chance to come down and fish, or even just stop to say hello.

Alright ladies and gents!  The time is closing in once again on another awesome tournament!  This week, we're heading to Saylorville for what looks to be a tough event from what I hear.  Rathbun was also tough, but the winning boat brought in nearly 17 pounds of fish.  Stop by with the family to see the weigh-in at 1:00!  More info can be found over at the site!  I look forward to seeing you there.

Well folks, we had a very tough day of fishing down on Saylorville!  Nobody managed a limit but there were many quality fish caught.  There were 13 teams launch when the rain finally let up after a good hour of pouring down rain.  The lake was very high but had been for quite some time which helped the fishing for some.  It took just shy of 9 pounds to win this awesome event and they take home over $700 bucks!  Big bass was 4.02 pounds and took home $117.  The weigh in was in front of tons and tons of people hanging out at Latitude 41 on the marina and everyone had a blast!  Nobody that fished the event walked away empty handed and even the kids took home some prizes.  I hope that more people can make it out to our next tournament, July 10, on Brushy Creek!  It looks to be a shoot-out and I'm expecting many limits to be brought in that day.  I hope to see you there.

Hey y'all!  Its been a while since I dropped a line on this thread, and with another tournament done I figured it was time to do so!  We fished Brushy Creek this past Saturday, and needless to say the fishing was tough!  There were 19 boats there competing for a first place prize of $1064!!  Out of 19 boats, 5 spots were paid and an aditional spot is paid out thanks to Bass Pro Shops for the amount of $100 in gift cards.  No boat walked away without a prize as 19 envelopes were handed out, as well as several prizes such as hats, shirts, and BBQ sauce!  Only two boats managed to bring a limit of fish to the scales, but many fish were weighed.  The winning weight was 11.75 pounds, with second place coming close with 11.60 pounds.

Our next tournament is going to take place on Red Rock.  Despite the belief that this lake doesn't hold good fish, I'm positive that healthy bags of fish will be weighed on August 7th! Like always, I hope to see you there!

Well folks its time to wrap up the first season of Iowa Premier Bass, and there is no better way to do so than by hosting a two day event on Lake Okoboji!  The two day onslaught is being hosted August 28 and 29th with a two day combined weight.  Payouts are great!  For example, with a twenty boat field, first place would be $1120 with 4 spots in total paid out!  Two additional bonus spots will also be paid out and there are more ways to win through the drawing than you can shake a stick at!  Plaques are given to first and second place, as well as for big bass.  For any anglers who have not fished an IPB event, or are not registered through NBAA, your membership fees will only be $10 rather than the origional $35!  Below are a few pictures from the events held earlier this season. I hope to see you all there!!

What a tournament!!  Wrapping up this first season with a two day slug fest on Okoboji was a blast for everyone!  We had tons of fish weighed in what turned out to be the roughest water many anglers had ever seen!  With a total of 17 teams, 8 limits were brought to the scales on Saturday with first place topping 16 pounds which was anchored with a 4.8 pound beautiful smallmouth!  Only 2 teams failed to weigh a fish on the first day.

Day two was another windy day from the start.  Many boats made the daring run onto West Okoboji to find their fish.  Once the boats began to show up to the ramp and fish brought to the scales it was obvious that the leader board was going to shift!  The first place team from day 1 brought another huge sack of fish in, weighing another bag over 16 pounds!  This time they had a 5.13 pound smallmouth that took big fish of the tournament!!!  They had a two day total of nearly 33 pounds of fish, taking first place and big fish plaques home.  Second place had over 28 pounds of fish, with the next places being over 27 and 25 pounds.

I can personally say that this was the roughest, toughest tournament I've ever fished in.  We were fishing the main lake points on West and had our trolling motor on high all the time our batteries would last!  Each day we had our limit in under an hour after not prefishing that area of the lake at all.  We ended up with a 2 day total of 23.05 pounds and took 6th place overall.  Many mixed bags were brought in with the green fish being dominant.  I'll post photos when they get uploaded!
